Rhodes is the Greek island of many wonders: in addition to the crystal-clear sea and breathtaking natural landscape, the island has a rich history that goes from the times of Ancient Greece until the Middle Ages.
In Rhodes you can dive into the clear waters of Anthony Quinn Bay, immerse yourself in the world enchanted by the Valley of Butterflies, visit the ancient acropolis of Lindos and experience the medieval atmosphere at the Palace of the Grand Master of the city of Rhodes.

Anthony Quinn Bay is the most famous beach in Rhodes. Its name comes from the fact that actor Anthony Quinn, after shooting a film in these places in the sixties, fell in love so much of the small bay that he wanted to buy it. It was initially granted to him, but in the 1980s, as a result of some changes to the law, it became publicly owned, but people continued to refer to the place as Anthony Quinn’s Bay. The bay is characteristic for its beach bathed by a crystal-clear sea from which emerge numerous rock formations

The Palace of the Grand Master, also known as the Castle of the Knights, is a wonderful example of medieval architecture on the Greek island. The palace, built in 1300, was the headquarters of the Order of the Knights of Saint John, and for centuries represented the outpost of Christianity in the Islamic world. In 1800 the building was destroyed by an explosion, and in the 1930s, when the island of Rhodes was part of the Italian administration, it was rebuilt with the intention of making it the residence of Vittorio Emanuele III and Benito Mussolini. The renovation was successfully completed although neither of them ever stayed there.

The Valley of the Butterflies is an enchanting place that is located just 27 kilometers from the city of Rhodes. Its name derives from the fact that in the summer millions of butterflies migrate to this valley attracted by the sugary resin produced by the zitia tree. When they are in flight these butterflies show the characteristic red color of their wings, while when they lean on the trees, they blend with them creating a fairy tale scene to say the least. But also, the natural landscape helps to make this valley a magical place: the Pelecano river that crosses the valley allows the growth of a luxuriant vegetation that colors everything with brilliant green, creating a real spectacle of nature.

Lindos is a small town located on a bay on the east coast of the island of Rhodes. The small village is a set of white houses, once inhabited by fishermen, which rise on the side of a hill that overlooks the bay, creating an enchanting landscape. But Lindos is also a city of very ancient origins, in fact on top of the hill where the city stands is the acropolis of Lindos, where you can visit the wonderful temple of Athena Lindia, which dates back to the 4th century BC. and it is the oldest building of the acropolis.
